Linda Weber

Linda May was born at Hines Creek, Alberta on May 26, 1940, the oldest daughter of Eben and Ruby McKay. Raised on a farm, she attended school in Hines Creek until moving to Peace River to attend Grade 12.  Linda worked at CIBC for one year before marrying Rudy Weber in 1959.

In 1994, Linda moved to Millet and instantly became involved in the community as secretary of the Millet Thunder seniors’ men hockey team for 3 years.  She then volunteered for the Millet Ag Society working bingo events, organizing the Millet Harvest Fair bench show 1997- 1999.  In about 2000, Linda started volunteering at bingos for the Millet and District Historical Society. She was soon on the board and became secretary in 2003. She soon became bingo chair, and Alberta Gaming and Liquor Control Rep for all MDHS bingos and casinos.  Linda has organized and worked two bingos a month for over 14 years.  She has also worked on cataloguing and inventorying the museum and archives collections, works on exhibit design and creation as well as all aspects of administrative support including funding proposals and kids’ programs.  Linda received her 10-year certificate in 2016 for volunteering with Communities in Bloom planting around the Museum and area as well as decorating for fall. Linda was inducted into the roster of Millet's Pioneer Women in 2017.
