For many museums in our country, government funding is essential for hiring summer staff. Government funding programs, including Young Canada Works and Canada Summer jobs federally and the Summer Temporary Employment Program provincially, allow museums to prepare and present high-quality programming and preserve our heritage. The staff also benefit immensely: they gain both the funds to pay for their education and the experience needed for future careers.
