Pioneers in Politics

Even before the process of women's suffrage began in 1916, women in Millet and the surrounding area were making strides in local politics. They paved the way for later generations of advocates, councilllors, and even mayors, who have all made their marks on the community through their leadership and commitment. Beyond their positions in office, these women have contributed to the community in a multitude of ways. Their unique life paths have thus given them a variety of perspectives and interests that have benefitted them - and us as their constituents.
