Our Pioneer Vision

Millet’s Pioneer Women Exhibit was established in 2011 as a part of the Central Alberta Regional Museums Network (CARMN)’s 1998 project, “Women of Aspenland.” Along with 46 other museums, the Millet and District Museum and Archives collects the biographies of and researches the political, social, and family lives of women who have significantly influenced Central Alberta.

Our pioneer women are pioneers in the sense that they are each unique; they have taken on initiatives and challenges that have set them apart in our community. It is for these reasons that we celebrate them in this exhibit and in this community, and it is for these reasons that this term is used.
